Is a Collection Design Plan Right for You?
I absolutely love working with clients on full service design projects. It offers the ideal conditions to provide exceptional service and to fully exercise my creativity in curating a home tailored to your lifestyle and tastes. Even so, Full Service Design isn’t right for everyone. Many people love interior design and have both the time and interest to shop for their new furnishings; others need more budget-friendly support. In both cases, I’ve heard that clients would still love professional guidance to get the look they love. If that sounds like you, we’ve created a hybrid service just for you!
Collection is an innovative service I’ve developed to provide a customized one-room design and furnishing package for clients interested in an elevated DIY approach. Clients anywhere in the US can work with me to develop a Collection for their home, thanks to a well organized process that is implemented virtually. If you do live in the Greater Portland area, you can upgrade to work with me in-person as well. This is not your typical virtual design experience. I’ve worked to develop an offering that is still deeply personal, making room to get to know your unique needs and interact personally even from afar.
As soon as you book your Collection experience, you’ll schedule an hour-long zoom consultation as the starting point for our design process. You’ll receive a Welcome Guide with clear instructions for your client homework:
Inspiration review and lifestyle questionnaire
Measuring guide and photography instructions to document existing space
Access to a shared Pinterest board to share the look you love
Credentials for your personal online design portal
After delivering your client Homework, you’ll meet with Sarah via zoom so we can get to know one another and learn more about your design needs. Sarah will ask questions based on your questionnaire and room photos, gathering all the important details to create a design that works beautifully for you and yours.
Back at our desks, we’ll develop a floor plan to optimize room flow, delineate furniture placement, and develop lighting schemes. Sarah understands the important role existing furnishings play in connecting your new space with treasured memories. We’ll do our best to include existing pieces in your plan, and offer ideas for alternative use if they aren’t an ideal fit for your goals.
With a clear floor plan in place, our team will set to work developing your design boards to envision the finished space and a personal online storefront where you can purchase the exact furnishings and accessories we recommend. You can choose to shop now or later on the online storefront, and download specifications for the items we recommend if you prefer to hunt for deals or shop in person.
Your entire Collection design will be packaged for easy download and presented by Sarah via video tutorial 3 weeks after your initial consultation call. Soon after, you’ll have a 30 minute zoom with Sarah to answer any questions and clarify the plan. If we’ve missed the mark on an item or two, we welcome your thoughts during our call and will provide re-selections on up to two items at no charge.
